Samuel L. Jackson Installing His Voice to Amazon’s Echo Alexa

So after installing the Jackson voice pack, Alexa users just say, “Alexa, introduce me to Samuel L. Jackson,” then choose whether they want him to use explicit language or not. Some example order Amazon offered: “Alexa, ask Samuel L. Jackson where he is from”; “Alexa, ask Sam to wake me up at 7 a.m.”; and “Alexa, ask Sam Jackson to sing happy birthday.” According to the company “Jackson can tell you jokes, let you know if it’s raining, set timers and alarms, play music and more — all with a bit of his own personality,”

In the past, Alexa has featured famous voices — such as morning greetings from Chelsea Handler or a duet with Ed Sheeran — but that required pre-recorded audio.

At the event, Amazon showed off Discovery’s forthcoming Food Network Kitchen subscription service, with a demo featuring Bobby Flay. The $6.99-a-month service will debut in October per month in the U.S, will use Alexa as its exclusive voice service under a 3-year pact. The Alexa integral allows subscribers to find and browse several of recipes, live cooking shows, and other videos — as well as tell to the device to skip to the next step or page in a recipe if their hands are full of something.
